Wilkinson Arts & Crafts Prairie School Leaded Glass Lamp Handel Duffner Era. Original circa 1910, Wilkinson Arts & Crafts, Prairie School leaded glass lamp. Unconditionally guaranteed a Wilkinson Lamp Co.
The 18 chunk glass shade is supported by a heavy library base with four pad feet. The shade has a factory Wilkinson hang tag ring still in place (see final picture). One of Wilkinson's finest bases, made in an attempt to compete with Tiffany's popular library base. For anyone who is planning the decor of their A&C bungalow home, or Prairie School home, this lamp would make an excellent addition to your Stickley, Roycroft, or Van Erp, decor, or any of the things made during the Arts & Crafts era.
The triangular chunk glass is a fantastic granite texture having a citron yellow perimeter and accented with a darker amber color in the center. There are linenfold type rectangular pieces along the skirt of the shade, in addition to ruby red inverted diamond shaped pieces along the drop of the skirt. The vertical top glass has very nice striations of color, blue-green, and opalescence on light and darker colored amber. When lit, the lamp give off a warm and soft ambiance, perfect for any Arts & Crafts setting. Shade is has one small rectangular piece of glass with a heat check. Had I not mentioned it, it most likely would have gone unnoticed. This is the finest of this type shade I have owned, or seen. Typically they have numerous heat check throughout. The glass in this shade is 100% original. The item "Wilkinson Arts & Crafts Prairie School Leaded Glass Lamp Handel Duffner Era" is in sale since Wednesday, December 14, 2016.
