It comprises a weighted base with stepped patinated brass cover, a tall stem that leads to a gallery for a large hemispherical white opaline glass shade that gives a soft, diffuse light outwards, and reflects good task lighting downwards through its open base. The lamp has been rewired with a generous length of premium Italian-made twisted cable with a mottled-grey linen braid, with a vintage-style Bakelite inline switch.
