The large Arts & Crafts shade features green, ruby, pink, blue and marbled glass panels. The style and quality of this shade is typical of the workmanship of Duffner and Kimberly of New York City.
This company was a contemporary of Louis Comfort Tiffany and the Tiffany Studios. Parallels were often drawn between the superb quality of the leaded glass lamps produced by both firms.
Though believe this shade could be the work of Duffner & Kimberly, we were unable to find an example of another lamp of the same design. In overall very good condition. There are scattered hairline cracks to some of the panels with examples of such pictured. There are some striations and bubbles in the glass owing to the manufacturing process. A small portion along the lower edge looks to have been bent slightly inward with some resulting cracks and losses as pictured.
This condition is consistent with age and use. Measures 8 3/4" in height and the top fitting is 3". Maximum diameter of 19 5/8. This superb leaded glass lamp shade will make a fantastic vintage accent in your home. In some cases, an adult signature may be required.
