Pre-WWII Aladdin Lamp, Short Lincoln Drape in RUBY Art Glass with Chimney

This is a rare original (circa 1939) Aladdin Lamp Model B in ruby crystal art glass, the short Lincoln drape, complete with chimney. It has no chips, cracks, or breaks. This is better known as the "short Lincoln drape, " and is in Ruby Crystal Art Glass.

The angle of the filler cap mount establishes that it is an original pre-World War II lamp produced in or about 1939, AND that it is not the re-issue that came out in the 1970s. To the top of the collar it stands about 8.75 inches tall.

There are no chips, cracks, or breaks in the glass. It has been electrified; it appears that an electrician (or at least someone quite handy) gutted an Aladdin burner and added an electrical socket to it. They mounted a switch in the filler cap. Based on the switch, wire, and Bakelite plug used, I would say it was done in the late 1940s (possibly earlier) and no later than the 1950s. FORTUNATELY, the glass was NOT drilled; to convert it back to kerosene would only require a new burner and filler cap. The burner works, and the bulb is included. I can do anything they would require of me, and probably faster, as my aim to is have satisfied customers. I'm not smart enough to tell anyone what will and won't appreciate in value, but I do know that. A thing of beauty is a joy forever. OK, not literally forever, because none of us will be around on earth that long, so we should store up treasure in heaven (Matthew 6: 19-20). But while doing that, consider what things of beauty we can afford to have around in the here and now, things that we can be stewards of for a time, and then have the joy of passing on to someone else.
