PAIR MARKEL ART DECO STREAMLINE MODERN CHROME COBALT FROSTED GLASS LAMPS 1930'S. DESIGN: A brilliant and stunning matched pair of elegant Streamline Art Deco styled polished Chrome and frosted Glass boudoir table lamps designed and manufactured by Markel lighting circa 1930. The classic bell shaped shades and bases are adorned with stylish Chevron triangle pattern reliefs that heighten their dimensions dramatically either illuminated or not. The pair stand stable and erect thanks to their matching thick frosted glass platform bases with contrasting Cobalt Blue mirrored glass details. CONDITION : These striking and unique Sculptural Art Deco boudoir lamps are in outstanding original condition, completely intact and fully functional.
The polished chromed is brilliant overall with a few surface marks to the frames and some finish wear to the smaller hardware around the finials and switches. The elegant form thick frosted glass bases with their Chevron pattern reliefs show no signs of abuse while their mirrored Cobalt Blue glass plates are very clean with just a few silver loss spots and a faint short stress fracture on one plate near the backside plug exit (see last pic). The blue glass plates are beveled on 2 sides while flush on the other 2 which is just noted for accuracy. The bell shaped thick frosted glass shades have reflecting Chevron pattern reliefs around their circumference and are equally as clean with the exception of one very faint surface chip at the backside edge (see last pic) which is almost unnoticable and could be a manufacture flaw?
Original rotary sockets, power switches and insulated power cords have been inspected and are completely safe and functional. DIMENSIONS: The lamps general dimensions are 11" tall with an overall width of 5" to the base. New nitelite screw in style size bulbs ARE included.
