Old Antique Arts & Crafts Handel Unique Leaded Slag Stained Art Glass Lamp

Here's a really nice, arts & crafts style leaded slag glass lamp made by Handel/Unique. I say Handel/Unique since the shade is clearly a Unique shade and the base is most definitely Handel. These sorts of combinations are well known and many Handel bases have Unique shades on them. It was very common to do so, I believe even in the early 1900's when these were made. This is a fine example with a highly colorful periwinkle shade having a great pink floral banded apron against a dark caramel geometric background.

It is a full sized table lamp with an 16" diameter shade that measures 23 1/2" tall. It is in very good overall condition with a couple of small heat cracks primarily in the lower two geometric rows (as shown in my images). The 3-socket base is a great example of Handel's work and even has a little original red paint in the crevasses which matches the pink in the shade very well. Neither base nor shade is signed. Unique NEVER signed their bases and Handel bases like this one were often signed with cloth tags on the green felt that was once on the bottom of this base.

The base has 3 matching Hubbell sockets with acorn pulls and has been wired with period style cloth braided cord.
