LARGE Art Deco Lamp, 1930s Chrome, Bakelite Catalin Czech Antique Glass Shade

ORANGE JEWELRY GRADE CATALIN LAMP! An absolutely stunning Art Deco phenolic bakelite lamp in a gorgeous candy like orange bakelite! This coloured, hard catalin bakelite was commonly used in the 1930s for art deco jewelry due to it's ability to be transparent and take brilliant colours including marbling. It has a heavy, solid brass chrome stepped base and accents with a highly geometric design and interesting ribbed column section. The shade itself is a beautiful, ribbed air ballon shape and features double cased czech glass with cream mottling, burnt reds, magentas, and swirls into hues of pink when it mixes with the cream. Truly stunning artistry in the glass. It is a desirable bright but classic colour and when lit up it provides a warm and spectacular light show as seen in the photos. This specimen is a chunky and large striking piece.. A very colourful burst of 1930s Art Deco and would be a fine addition to your interior decor and/or collection. The lamp is in absolutely EXCELLENT condition as seen. The chrome components are all extremly bright. The bakelite has no cracks or chips and is in fantastic shiny condition. The shade is also in perfect condition. There are no issues with the lamp, it is an amazing example. Approximate size of lamp: Height: 58 cm Base Width : 13 x 13 cm. To make sure this happen, I use firm boxes, package stiffeners, foam separators between items, bubble wrap around the item, and paper padding. I recycle packing materials whenever possible.
