Good luck finding another one. I researched best I could on the internet and only found two of these. One with the same coloration in the glass, the other with all yellow/caramel colored glass.
Obviously this red and green glass has more life and desirability than the other single color caramel/yellow. I love this lamp, its as if the dragon is breathing red fire out of its mouth for the world to see. The glass without breaks or chips and the overlay all present and accounted for. The base measures 25 inches tall and is rewired with proper period style cloth cord and old plug. The base retaining the old sockets and satellite pulls and all three in fine working order. The base also retains its original patina throughout as well as its cap. The shade measures 18 and 1/4 inches at its widest and is in fine structual condition having no breaks in the glass nor metal anywhere. All leading tight and solid and patina matching the base very nicely as well. The overlay all there and without breaks although it is lifting up here or there in a couple of spots.
Completely meaningless but I mention for accuracy sake. All in all a supercool and quite rare lamp that will be the focal point of any room it resides in. Recently I have been putting different lighting on with reserves and no reserves. Zone two would be 75.00 times 20% which equals 15.00 which is added to the 75.00 and becomes 90.00. Zone three is 75.00 times 33% which is 25.00 which then becomes 100.00 for zone three. Sorry to do this and I hope you will stay on as fine and loyal customers. We may be able to hand deliver this item ourselves. What that means is this. Some great Bradley Hubbard, Tiffany, Handel, etc. Chances are if there aren't any, it's a newer item and you shouldn't want it anyways. In other words, a minor blemish on some metalwork belonging to a large shade or a 1/16 by 1/16 of a paint flake missing, please try and be reasonable.
I always describe the important aspects towards condition reports and sometimes my eye misses what I deem immaterial issues such as the aforementioned sentence. There are a few things in life we cant do without. Food, water, fire, oxygen, the sun, shelter etc. So when it comes to shelter and necessary light for it, thats where I come in. I believe in living simply and within my means but surrounded by items of great quality.
Of and the wasteful utilities that go along with that. So why is it people go out and spend. Not to mention you got the same usage for that entire time period? This makes infinitely more financial sense than the other choice, plus you have a conversation piece in the room and something to be proud of.
Also you have more cultural feeling invested in something 100 years old knowing that it can never be duplicated by modern making techniques and knowing there a few, if any, like it left for this world and now its yours. You display it and care for it. So again thats where I come in. Great period lighting when electricity was still in its infancy.
When makers like Bradley and Hubbard, Handel, Tiffany studios, Pairpoint, and others cared about quality, appearance, and function. When makers were trying to outdo one another with this new business boom of electric lighting. When we went from whale and kerosene oil lamps and gas, to electric. This is when the best lamps in the world were manufactured and the ones I want to light my home with when its dark. I cant control the sun or the amount of light it provides or when it comes up or goes down, and whether its cloudy or not, but I can control the light in my home when its dark. And like I said earlier, I want nice rugs, paintings, pottery, furniture, etc. And I want to see those items lit by great lighting. Its what makes a home more outstanding and livable because without it you see absolutely nothing. A quality lamp makes or breaks a room. You can have the best rugs, furniture, paintings, and accessories in the world, but without great lamps or lighting nobody will ever see it.
