Bohemian 11MANTLE LUSTER LAMP. Gilt Gold & Emerald. 8 Prisms. Enameled Florals
Item under consideration is a Vintage, BOHEMIAN MANTLE LUSTER LAMP. Lamp stands 11 1/2 inch tall and is Emerald green in coloration. Mostly covered with encrusted gold gliding with raised white floral and scrolling decorations and crystal spear prisms.
Luster is intact, complete and is without damage. The Luster lamp bowl's 1 3/4 inch tall scalloped border, the bowl s 8 inch tall body and the top 2 inches of the base are all encrusted in gilt gold. The front and back of the luster are hand-decorated with the same raised enameled white florals (100% intact). The bowls border contained 5 horizontal white florals (photos# 4 & 5). The stems center contains 2 horizontal white florals (photos# 5 & 6). The base contains one white floral (photos# 7 & 8). There are seven 3-part, 6 inch long crystal notched spear prisms attached to the bottom of the bowl (photos# 9 & 10). The base has a 1/4 inch wide gold trim (photo# 8). Fabrication design concept of the Luster was to.Accommodate lighting by candle, because electricity was not yet commonly available at the time of fabrication. The center body of the Luster is hollow to accommodate water, the candle end is inserted in the water tube, which extinguished the candle when the flame burned low. Dimensions: Height- 11 1/2 inch. Diameter, across rim- 5 1/4 inch. Diameter, across base- 5 inch.
