CONDITION: Vintage Caramel glass, cast iron, Parlor/Newel/Table lamp in original, very good condition (there is a small piece of one portal missing-please see photo-it is to the back of the base, above the gas valve) -minor but mentioned for complete accuracy. This is a prairie style natural gas lamp that has been rigged with a clip-on electric lamp so that it can be used, but not compromised from it's original condition. That said, she's a real beauty and will grace any room from Arts and Crafts to Eclectic with her powerful presence.
There is a factory name on the underside of the base. I can only make out the last word, "BASE". Please see photo for your best description. It measures 11" widest by 21" tallest. This could be a real "SLEEPER". Vintage Original Circa 1910 Arts and Crafts Mission Caramel Slag Glass Iron Base and Shade. A beautiful lamp that casts a warm and inviting light that you will treasure. An unbelievable find for anyone who has a special home/bungalow, craftsman style, Stickley, Roycroft, Limbert or similar Arts and Crafts style space. Clean lines, perfect form and construction, this lamp could easily be used in any setting from Victorian to Tiffany to Modern. Of course this would make a great Christmas present as well. Separately included is a small electrical lamp and chord that attaches independently on an inside shade strut for easy electrical use. It lights up great and the stained glass shade glows very attractively. The body of the shade is stained glass as well as the shade. In excellent, original shape, it weighs 16 pounds and measures 11" wide by 21" tall.Truly an "Art piece" with a utilitarian aspect. It's very possible that this exceptional piece was affixed to a newel post at the bottom of a grand stairway. Check out my other items. Please Check Out my other items for sale!
