Introducing the Crem de La Crem. The Cream of the Crop. On display before you is an extremely scarce Giannini & Hilgart antique glass lamp. Many early period Chicago based Arts & Crafts designers created some pretty high quality prestigious lamp pieces back in those early days, and this legendary lamp is sure one of them.

And If you don't mind me asking. When was the last time you ever seen a lamp like this one before?

Well, you can get a Tiffany Studios or a Handel any day of the week, but you can almost never have an opportunity to obtain one of these. This G & H Lamp measures 18" high from top of Finial to bottom of lamp base. And the antique glass lamp shade measures 12 1/2" straight across in diameter. And when it comes to this amazing antique Green Glass Lamp Shade what can I really say - Except Wow! This stunning shade pretty much speaks for itself. Artistically carved, very thick, and very heavy, is this uniquely sculpted and shaped absolutely Gorgeous Green Color Antique Uranium Glass Lamp Shade. Being decorated with a Majestic Mural of which looks to be Grape Leaves and Vine swirl dressings with Grape Clusters, along with an array of ornamental designs around the upper and lower areas of this very old antique glass shade. Fine craftsmanship to be admired here, being in a stunned state of awe when viewing these vibrant variation translucent colors of Antique Green, along with this glass shades spectacular shape. This very old Victorian Era Edwardian Era shift of society. Circa 1900 to 1906 Antique Uranium Green Glass Lamp Shade is of such Great Quality Glass that it reminds me of some Old Chinese Emperor dynasty period Green Color from hundreds of years ago, just like that million dollar green carved glass bowl that is always seen on the PBS channel commercials promoting some of the greatest Antique Road Show finds. This Lamp has definitely Got Personality!

There are 2 top rim chips located at the very top circle rim shape of this glass shade. But they are never ever seen, and they are never ever visible, being invisible as if they didn't exist, because when the top heat caps are assembled on top when the lamp is one all completely put together, the 2 chips are never at all visible. Therefore, knowing of this Lamps True Rarity, I wasn't even caring about that at all when having the Golden Opportunity I had when purchasing it, and was not gonna pass it up.

As an Arts & Crafts Lamp Collector myself, I know how Special this Lamp is, and I never cared at all that those 2 chips were there, because you or anyone else will never ever see them. Other than that Glass is Good!

Only normal Antique wear present that is common and consistent with most old Antique Glass Lamp Shades over 100 years old. Now this Lamp base is also really old school, and is also very ornate. Lamp base possesses its Original Patina and has an old cloth cord that is still in very strong good condition.

Only a few frayed sections on cloth cord where the outer cloth thread has worn off but all inner wiring is intact, stable, strong, and working great. Frayed outer sections of fabric cord is common and pretty much happens to all fabric cloth cords over long periods of time. This fabric cloth cord will hold up very well for many more years to come.

Also an Antique Plug is present with metal prongs that say Bryant on them, and a insulator covering that says Hubble on it. Very old ornamental designed lamp base possesses 2 Rare size socket shells, and having the oldest P & S socket I've ever seen.

P & S started producing lamp parts in 1900. Lamp base also has a very old green felt cover on the bottom of base. Normal antique wear present on this lamp base that is common and consistent with old antique lamp bases over 100 years old.

G & H Lamps are sometimes seen with glass shades on a pottery type lamp base, as well as other glass shades seen on different lamp bases, like this glass shade example is seen on a different lamp base. I always wondered if maybe Willy H Lau possibly designed the lamp base for this glass shade. G & H Lamps are rarely ever signed. This early period antique lamp is in good working order.

This Arts & Crafts Lamp is an Excellent Example of one of Chicago's Finest. "Giannini & Hilgart" always attractive and always a beautiful sight to see. The new owner is going to love this lamp. Feel free to ask any questions or concerns you may have. Thank you for viewing our lamps.
