Art Nouveau Spelter 4 Light Figural Newell Post Lamp, Jb Hirsch L & F Moreau

JB Hirsch L & F Moreau Art Nouveau Collection Francaise Figural Newell post lamp stands 36 tall topped with 4 tulip shape milk glass shades. Some loss to paint finish but otherwise in very good condition, no cracks or damage to spelter. Please refer to photos for further information.

Electrical works as designed, no issues. Included with the lamp (attached with string) is a brochure identifying it as a product of the JB Hirsch Company and has item number handwritten on it. The Collection Francaise medallion is on the lower back of lamp.

Hirsch, a Romanian metalsmith, started the New York Metal Art Bronze Works in Manhattan to import pieces from French foundries. After World War I, he traveled to Paris, bought the company's molds and opened J. Hirsch, his own casting foundry, in the United States. Hirsch made figural "French Bronze" lamps. From 1948 to 1963, Hirsch and his son Abraham reassembled hundreds of original bronze molds hidden during World War II.
