In the 1920s, Jean Noverdy, made the best use of electrical lighting and he created lamps with shades the most often were made?? of glass with two layers. Between these two layers he pulverizes colored enamels to give it a marmoreal look. The same techniques were used by Daum Frères, André Delatte and Muller Freres in this period. This shade measures 14" in diameter by 4 1/8" tall and it has brass leaf and ribbon holders.
They retain their original patina and are in excellent condition. The original chains measure 11" long and there is a 122" long added chain. Aside from one replaced socket and some scratching to the glass under the brass holders, there are no other problems. It has Jean Noverdy's signature which reads, Noverdy France.
