Lovely pair 1930's pink glass bedroom lamps made by the Houze/Houzex Glass Company. The glass globes or shades are cylindrical with rounded vertical ribbing; there are four vertical textured strips of raised art deco detailing. The bases are very interesting, using a combination of shapes. The lower section is scalloped and stands on scalloped tab feet spaced around the bottom.
The upper section has the rounded vertical ribbing to match the globes. Would be great period pieces on that art deco dresser or vanity! These lamps are in working order (sorry I only had one bulb so only showing one lit at a time; bulb is not included but you should use a low wattage bulb; shown with a 25 watt bulb, normal base size) and each has a pull chain on/off switch.
There is a generous length of electric cord on each lamp. Even though they are vintage cords, they are in nice condition, not stiff at all. Measure 11-1/2 tall to the top of the metal finial. As for condition, there is some finish wear to the metal parts and some tiny nips/flakes off the corners/points of the globes here and there, mostly just amounting to roughness. These minor chips aren't even noticed unless you look closely.
However, the lamp on the left does have more damage to its globe. How do I explain this? It is like one of the rounded ribs has been chipped off almost all the way down the length of the globe and a very small part of the next rib which happens to be a patterned one (shown in last 2 photos).
This damaged area could easily be placed towards the back of the lamp and not seen at all. All in all, this is a nice pair of dresser lamps from days gone by that look beautiful on the table!
