This superb example of German Modernism was manufactured around the late 1930s. They are a beautiful pair of bedside table lamps. As seen they have a very classic minimalist Bauhaus style of design with it's simplified geometric form, and are made from quality material such as natural stone (a black marble with beautiful formations within), brushed aluminium, marbled double cased opal glass and bakelite.

The Bauhaus ethos was simplified forms, rationality and functionality, and the idea that mass-production was reconcilable with artistic design. This is a clear example of this spirit showcasing it's minimalist appeal, functionality, and that classy modernist look that that school of though produced.

As with products of the 30s, this was produced with high quality and the design is well thought out and put together. These are design to be fully adjustable with articulating shade heads so you can adjust the shade to the angle you need and also use them as uplighters.

The design also adds interest with the very modern looking aluminium circular inlay in the stone.. Where it adds focus to the aluminium toggle switch... And it's unusual mushroom style shades with absolutely beautiful multi layer marbling. Additional features are the new black twisted cord cable and it's original german black bakelite plug with an interesting modernist design. This pair is a striking modernist statement piece and would look absolutely classy in a converted warehouse or any interior that requires that classic but clean design.

The lamps are in absolutely EXCELLENT condition as seen. The aluminium components are in excellent original condition. The toggle switches are in very good, clean functional condition and have no issues. The bakelite components have no problems and unscrew cleanly so that the shades can be removed with ease. The glass shades are also in excellent condition as seen with no chips or cracks.
