Antique Arts & Crafts Unique Apple Blossom Leaded Slag Stained Glass Table Lamp
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. Unique made a lot of lamps..... And some were a lot better than others. This is one such lamp.
Copied after the popular Tiffany design, this 100% original Unique apple blossom is a beautiful example. I have only had this lamp one time before and this example is much nicer than that one. The colors are deeper and the contrast between the flowers and the background is much better.
I will let my pictures do most of the talking here and as you can see from them the lamp displays extremely well and would look awesome in any arts & crafts setting. In terms of size, this is a full sized table lamp.
The shade measures 16" in diameter and the lamp stands 23" tall. In terms of condition, I see a couple of small cracks here and there, but nothing serious. There are no replaced pieces and the shade has that nice rattle of an old and original lamp. Patina on both the shade and base is just outstanding. Even Paul Crist recognized that this version copied one of Tiffany's designs as it is pictured in his book Mosaic Shades II on page 62 where he calls it a "close copy" of a Tiffany design (my last picture is a picture of this page).
The spun copper base is typical of Unique and this one has 3 long Hubbells with their original interiors and acorn pull chains. It has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and a nice old plug and comes ready to use and enjoy. Folks, this is a great lamp in and of itself. It is a fully authentic, period, leaded glass table lamp from Unique...And a fairly rare one at that.
