ANTIQUE ORIGINAL ART DECO GREEN GLASS, 3 SLIP SHADE. Slideshow may take a few seconds to load (allow Active X controls), if it fails to open, please.

(opens in a new window). To see a 5 light chandelier and a sconce pair in the same style.

Option, please see below for details. An incredibly stunning, ultra rare early Art Deco 3 light transitional (shows both art deco and art nouveau styles) slip shade chandelier from the 1920's.

Of exceptionally impressive visual impact, this chandelier has an antique polychrome finish on a white metal frame with classic floral design, the 3 opaque green acid etched and frosted glass shades have geometric floral intaglio designs. Although quite strongly frosted, the shades are completely opaque (cloudy but light passes through freely). It should be noted that as the shades have open (upwards) design, most of the light escapes upward to reflect off the ceiling and walls thus filling the room with natural warm white light, much less green light escapes these fixtures. This chandelier has been rewired (for safety reasons), fitted with new UL certified porcelain screw (E26 - E27) sockets for standard bulbs and is thus totally compliant with modern electrical regulations, ready to use, (bulbs not included), other than the fitment of these new sockets this fixture is totally original. This chandelier has been professionally restored (faithful to the original) and rewired, fitted with new porcelain E26 -27 base screw sockets for standard screw bulbs (although we recomend torpedo - candelabra bulbs as they are easier to fit), thus making it totally compliant with US electrical systems and is ready to use, (bulbs not included).

Other than the fitment of these new sockets and wiring. And the retouching of the finish. This fixture is totally original. We recommend 25w or 40w candelabra or round bulbs but you can also use CFL or the new LED bulbs. Considering it's age and the primitive manufacturing processes of the day it is in remarkably good condition, the white metal frame has no cracks, the finish is clean and bright and the glass shades may have a few tiny nibbles mostly around the fitter edge (black arrows indicate where in photo), unseen when installed.

We need to keep in mind these fixtures are over 80 years old, they are not'brand new perfect' any faults are indicated in this condition report. Total height (with chain) 84cm (33") Without chain 56cm (22") Spread (diameter around outside tip of shades) 40cm (16") Shade length 22cm (8½") Width 13cm (5¼). Please allow for variations in monitor/screen settings. The quickest and preferred by most people. Costs shown here, and entered on invoice. Australia Post with tracking (5 to 7 Days) from W.
